Without Philip's imput, a small group of his City of London Corporation ,Environmental Health work colleagues,would not have embarked on annual short trips to Eastern European cities,sadly the last one ,to Bratislava without him. Let me explain;it all started with Philip's "stag do" to Prague,accompanied ,unbeknown to him, by "Gloria " the inflatble doll,secreted in my suitcase.He would always amaze us with his in depth knowledge about the far flung places we visited,including encyclopedic information on local trams , trains and rare smoky,sour German beers.He will be greatly missed.
