Philip joined the Environmental Health course at Aston in the second year and along with a small group of friends we spent many a happy hour sampling the beers that Birmingham and its surrounds had to offer. Our paths often met during our professional years; nearly always when we had a pint in our hands. I will miss Philip's dry sense of humour and his great willingness to share his knowledge.
